Bull Kelp is the largest form of brown algae, capable of growing up to 25cm in a single day. Easily recognized by its floating bulb, used to collect sunlight, super long holdfast and many fronds. Bull kelp grows in annual ‘forests’ and provides habitat and food for hundreds of different marine species. Nereocystis, this plants genus, is the Greek word for “mermaids bladder”. 

Munch on these salty treats right out of the bag, or crumble onto soups, stews, salads, sandwiches or casseroles. For a tasty snack, toast at 350F for 2 min.
