Cashews Pieces: Raw, Organic, Unpasteurized – Light Cellar

Story:

The seed of the cashew apple – each fruit produces only one ‘nut’ that forms below the apple. Cashews are covered in 2 layers of shell, between which is an allergenic resin. To remove this, our cashews are steamed, shelled, then dried twice at low temps to remove the remaining inedible portions and reduce the moisture content for storage. Cashews are in same family as mangos, pistachios and poison ivy.

Instructions:

Use as a snack, add to salads or stir-frys or make into a tasty nut mylk or vegan cheese.
